What changed in Command An Army Update 2?
Update 2 went live on September 19, 2026 and is already in the game. It is a systems update as much as a unit update: Guilds and Ranked change how players organise and compete, while Rapier and Rapier Knight give the roster a new trait to learn.
| Feature | Detail |
|---|---|
| Guild system | Added — create or join a guild, custom roles, member banners |
| Ranked mode | Added — nine competitive tiers |
| Ranked ladder | Warrior, Knight, Noble, Commander, General, Warlord, Conqueror, Overlord, Emperor |
| Rapier | New unit with the Parry trait |
| Rapier Knight | New unit, Rapier line, first female unit in the roster |
| Parry trait | New trait attached to the Rapier line |
| Spearman squad size | 24 → 28 troops |
| Pikeman squad size | 24 → 28 troops |
| Gem earnings | Reduced by 30% |
| Troop Mastery XP | Reduced by 30%, then partly restored the same day |
| Player XP | Returned to its previous level later on September 19 |
| New codes | RANKED, GUILD, PARRY, RAPIER — 300 Gems each |
The four new codes are worth redeeming immediately, because Update 2 also cut Gem earnings by 30%. The full list lives on the Command An Army codes page, and the redemption walkthrough is on the how to redeem codes page.
How do Guilds work in Command An Army?
Guilds were the headline feature advertised before the update and they shipped with the live build. The system creates a persistent social layer so players can organise under the same group instead of treating every server as a separate session.
What is confirmed: you can create or join a guild, name it, assign members to custom roles, and guild members display a banner behind their character. Community testing put the creation cost at 15,000 Gems, which is a large share of the reduced post-update income, so treat that number as a strong lead rather than a settled value.
The developer’s public patch information confirms Guilds are live but does not publish a stable table of creation costs, member caps, permissions or upgrade values. Open the Guild panel in the current game for exact requirements instead of relying on a pre-release guess — that panel is the authority, and this page deliberately does not invent the missing rows.
How does Ranked work in Command An Army?
Ranked is the other major system in Update 2. It is a competitive ladder with nine tiers, and matchmaking pairs you against opponents at a similar rank.
The ladder in ascending order:
| # | Rank |
|---|---|
| 1 | Warrior |
| 2 | Knight |
| 3 | Noble |
| 4 | Commander |
| 5 | General |
| 6 | Warlord |
| 7 | Conqueror |
| 8 | Overlord |
| 9 | Emperor |
Emperor is the highest rank currently in the game. Ranked sits alongside the existing progression systems rather than replacing them: your Star Limit still caps what you can field, Mastery still gates evolution, and Ascension still converts duplicates into permanent strength. Climbing the ladder does not raise your Star Limit, so the unit tier list still decides what you can actually bring into a match.
What are Rapier and Rapier Knight?
Rapier and Rapier Knight are the two new units, and they were not what players expected. Earlier roadmap discussion associated this update window with Mongol content, but the live build shipped the Rapier line instead.
Rapier Knight is the higher-profile of the pair and the first female unit in the roster. Community testing recorded these stats:
| Stat | Rapier Knight |
|---|---|
| HP | 205 |
| Damage | 19 |
| Parry | 20% |
| Range | 6 |
| Speed | Fast |
Those numbers come from one testing session, not from an official stat card, so treat them as a starting point and confirm against the live unit panel. The published update record does not give a confirmed star rating, summon percentage or full stat card for either Rapier unit.
The unit is built for mobility and flanking rather than holding a frontline. Its speed suits circling enemy formations, reaching backlines, hitting vulnerable units, and taking objectives from unexpected angles. It does not appear to deal block damage, so it is not the right pick for breaking a heavily defended position on its own.
Rapier Knight can evolve into a three-star form with increased damage. The normal evolution system requires Mastery level 20 at an evolve station, but no complete Rapier-to-Rapier-Knight requirement has been published, so do not assume it uses the same route or cost as an older line. The evolution guide covers the confirmed paths.
What does the Parry trait do?
Parry is the new trait introduced with the Rapier line. The developer’s public update record confirms the trait exists and associates it specifically with Rapier and Rapier Knight.
What is not published is the mechanical detail: trigger timing, block percentage, cooldown, and which attacks it can counter. The confirmed answer is therefore that Parry defines the Rapier line rather than being a global trait added to every melee troop. Read the live unit tooltip and test it in battle rather than inferring behaviour from the word “parry”.
What else changed in Update 2?
Beyond the headline features, Update 2 moved several numbers that affect ordinary matches:
- Spearman and Pikeman squads grew from 24 to 28 troops. Four extra bodies per deployment changes how much battlefield space a spear line controls. This matters most in Ranked, where both units are anti-charge choices rather than generic damage dealers.
- Gem earnings dropped 30%. This is the change most likely to affect your day-to-day progression, and it is why the four new 300-Gem codes are worth more than they look.
- Troop Mastery XP was cut by 30% and then partly restored later on September 19. The reduction did not survive the full day.
- Player XP returned to its previous level later on September 19. If you saw a dip in player XP on launch day, that has been reverted.
If you are planning around progression income, the beginner guide covers the official attack, defense, capture-point and upgrade loop, and the formation planning guide turns a new unit into a squad you can actually test.
Did Mongol units come out in Update 2?
No. Mongol content is not part of the live Update 2 roster. Earlier roadmap discussion put Mongol content in this window, but the September 19 patch shipped Rapier and Rapier Knight instead.
The developer had tied the announced Mongol unit to a Battle Pass described as free and progressed through quests. That content has now shipped one update later: Update 3, the Mongol update of October 3, 2026, delivered the Battle Pass with three units alongside the first 5-star unit. The Update 3 overview covers what the patch added.
What comes after Update 2?
Update 3, the Mongol update, went live on October 3, 2026 — it was the “next content drop” this page pointed at while its date was unconfirmed. Patch notes were posted in the game Discord that day per All Things How, and the official Roblox experience now brands the game with a Mongols prefix (checked October 7, 2026). The full breakdown — the Laestrygonian first 5-star, the Battle Pass units, the Mace and Pikeman evolution endpoints, and the new Skill Tree, Auto Delete and AFK Server systems — lives on the Update 3 overview. The proposed Laestrygonian unit named in pre-update roadmap discussion is the one that shipped, as the first 5-star no less; the other roadmap idea, stat points, has not appeared in any shipped update so far.
How should I keep up with Command An Army updates?
The developer posts patch information through the Roblox experience and the game’s Discord channels, and this wiki re-checks codes, unit data and mechanics after each update. Every mechanism page here carries a last-verified date, so you can see how fresh a claim is before acting on it. Start from the codes page after any patch, because new codes usually arrive with the update.
